  • Kittery Outlet Malls (15 minutes) Over a mile of famous-name shopping at deep discount prices. Nationally, one of the first and best major-brand outlet centers.
  • Fox Run Mall (10 minutes) More than 100 retailers in a modern, indoor mall plus many more at the adjacent Fox Run Crossing.

    Recreation

  • Hampton Beach State Park (5 minutes) provides year-round recreation with Atlantic oceanfront facilities situated along miles of sandy beach. Its Seashell complex includes a band shell amphitheater, public information services, comfort station and first aid. Activities in the park include swimming, fishing, picnicking, and RV camping with full hook-ups in the campground.
  • Water Country (10 minutes) is New England's largest water park and rated in the top 10 nationally.

    Local Interest

  • Prescott Park (15 minutes) Portsmouth's beautiful waterfront public park with acclaimed flower gardens and a summerlong arts festival.
  • Redhook Brewery (15 minutes) This brewer of premium ales distributed nationally offers brewery tours daily.
  • Cape Neddick (Nubble) Lighthouse (30 minutes) One of the most photographed and popular lighthouses in the nation, the picturesque and accessible Cape Neddick Lighthouse in York Beach, Maine, makes a great destination.
  • Hampton Airfield (5 minutes) This classic "grass strip" attracts general aviation enthusiasts, airplane buffs and anyone who enjoys watching planes. With just 2000 feet of turf runway and a pilots' lounge that's a throwback to the good old days, you'll see plenty of interesting planes and the people who fly them! Daring visitors can take a "thrill ride" in an historic open-air biplane and fly over the nearby beaches. Home to FAA Vintage Chapter #15 clubhouse and flight line shack. A Northeast Airlines DC-3 is on static display. Hampton Airfield has had continuous Piper Cub training since 1946.

    Nature

  • Seacoast Science Center and Odiorne Point State Park (10 minutes) Located where New Hampshire's first settlers landed, the seaside State park and adjacent Seacoast Science Center make a great day trip for all ages.
  • Isles of Shoals (15 minutes to ferry.) Six miles off the New Hampshire coast, the Isles or Shoals offer an unspoiled retreat filled with history, the beauty of nature and unique wildlife.

    Historical

  • Strawbery Banke Museum (15 minutes) This "living museum" illustrates the lives of historic New Englanders with restored homes from four centuries grouped in a beautiful seaside setting. Working artisans and special events are featured daily in season.
  • USS Albacore Submarine Museum and Park (15 minutes) This historic experimental vessel was built in Portsmouth and launched in 1953. Its hull design and many technical advances make it forerunner of all modern submarines. Converted to a museum, visitors can now walk through the Albacore and investigate the numerous educational exhibits at this oceanside park.
